About Us

Blossoming Restoration, PLLC is a practice born out of necessity. It was developed with a focus on populations that tend to face the strong stigma of mental health and the notion that physical strength, intelligence, as well as academic and personal success means that you have it all figured out and couldn't possibly be struggling with how to cope with life stressors or other mental health concerns. We know that is the furthest from the truth, so on the path to mental wellness, we work to center those lived experiences and challenge the misconceptions. Our primary client population are Athletes, Young Adults and Professional Women.

Domonique Carter (she/her), Ed.D, LCMHC-QS, NCC

Hey Y'all! My name is Domonique. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. Originally from Lumberton, North Carolina. After spending more then 20 years living up north, I am back in North Carolina living and working in the Triangle. I received my B.A in Psychology from the University of Delaware; my M.S in Counseling, with a focus on higher education and student affairs, from West Chester University of Pennsylvania; and my Ed.D in Higher Education Leadership and Innovation from Wilmington University.

As a retired collegiate student athlete, and former student athlete support professional, I know all to well the struggle of balancing the student, athlete and young adult identities. All while trying to figure out my own mental health, battling with the stigma of seeking help and feeling like no one understands. As a result my specialty is in helping both current and retired athletes (club, high school, college, professional) through their mental health concerns, identity based transition and young adult transition concerns.

In addition, through my extensive career in higher education and workforce development, I also specialize in working with young adults and professional women experiencing social, academic and career related stress. As well as depression, anxiety, stress management, young adult transition concerns, and identity based transition.
